Expected sweep of San Jose encampment met with pushback

Another sweep of a San Jose homeless encampment is set to take place Thursday morning, but before it starts, advocates for the unhoused are expected to push back.

Unhoused residents and their supporters are expected to protest a scheduled encampment sweep Thursday morning in North San Jose.

The community of about 30 people, some of whom just joined after the sweep at Columbus Park, are organized. They have about 20 RVs, brought in portable bathrooms and a water station and came up with community rules.
