There’s not much to say about Riverside. It was common for people to move here to get away from the crazy high cost of housing closer to the coast but now Riverside has grown up and pretty much can stand alone with other California Cities.
Riverside is the most populous city of Southern California’s Inland Empire region. Riverside is the birthplace of California’s citrus industry and home to the University of California, Riverside (UCR). Its downtown is home to the Mission Inn, one of two historic landmark hotels in California. The Mission Inn Festival of Lights is said to be the third largest Christmas lights display in the nation.[citation needed]
