50-Acre Brush Fire Burning in the Newhall Area

A 60-acre brush fire dubbed the Towsley Fire was burning in the Newhall area on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The fire was first reported around 1:30 p.m. near Towsley Canyon Park on the 24200 block of The Old Road, and was described by fire officials as wind-driven.

As of 4:50 p.m.. the fire was 50-60 acres and was 10% contained, according to the LA County Fire Department.

No structures were threatened, but there is a threat to the Porter Ranch area.
