3 accused of construction sites burglaries in San Francisco, police say

Three men were accused of overnight construction site burglaries in San Francisco, the police department said Wednesday.

San Francisco police said they began a criminal investigation in mid-September after becoming aware of suspected residential burglars providing suspected stolen property to a suspected fence, who police described as a person who buys stolen property, following a residential construction site burglary.

On Oct. 3, police said they conducted surveillance on the suspects, identified as 49-year-old Oswaldo Antonio Fuentes, 45-year-old Daniel Gonzalez and 64-year-old Mario Randolfo Pazoz-Cruz, and observed them switching license plates on a vehicle used to commit burglaries throughout the city.

Officers report the burglaries were committed across the Taraval, Ingleside, Park, Richmond, Northern, Mission and Bayview police districts. Police adds the crew was operating overnight and targeting homes that were under construction.

Throughout the course of the investigation, authorities said they determined the suspects were associated with at least four burglaries of residential construction sites in San Francisco in the early morning hours of Oct. 3 in the Taraval police district.

According to officers, the burglaries occurred at the following locations:

Officials said officers observed the suspects meet a fencing suspect who received the stolen property in a parking lot on the 2000 block of Evans Avenue, and witnessed the transfer of a large number of tools from one vehicle to another.

Fuentes, Gonzalez, and Pazoz-Cruz were arrested and booked at the San Francisco County Jail and officers were able to recover thousands of dollars in stolen construction equipment, according to police.
